My truck was vandalized by the place I got my windows tinted at. NEVER take your ram to an import tuner place! He told me the job would take 30 minutes. After waiting two hours the tint had bubbles in it so I told him to take the tint off, I didnt have time to wait for him to do it again and I wasnt going to pay him. He convinced me to let him fix the tint, and when I got back home I found the ding on the door. A day later I realized the doors were bent. Its a GOOD thing I did not find out at the shop or someone would be dead or in jail or both.

He dinged one of the doors and also wrenched both the passenger and drivers doors. The doors are about 1/8" low and the bottoms are twisted out so they dont sit flush any more. I think he opened the doors as far as possible and kept pushing them until the hinges bent.

Does anyone know if its possible to adjust the doors on the hinges or adjust the hinges so that the doors are level?It seems like there would have to be some abilty to adjust them. I dont want to take it to a body shop or claim with insuranceand the passenger door is making a rubbing noise when going over bumps. The drivers door latch doesnt line up very well anymore.

CMA do you have another buddy with a truck? what i would do is like a sting op. have a buddy with a truck that wants his windows tinted (quite common now a days) see if it bubbles have him do just about the same thing you did if he gets bubbles see what happens. take pictures of the vehicle before and after (like all modders do) if they wind up doing a good job he got his tint done mission accomplished. if they f up and put bubbles in it and he tells them to fix it and they mess his stuff up you have proof!

sorry to hear about the damage, i would have been back there same day with my truck and hauled all there tuners off the lot and in the street!

 

Where are you, and what shop was it, for everyones reference....(and so all us ram owners can roll over there with you and load all the civics and rsx's into the beds of our trucks)

 

ohh by the way no matter were you tint your windows, when you first see it theres tons of bubbles in it. Thats why they say dont roll your windows down. In a day or two, the sun evaporates all the bubbles and its perfect. But as far as them f in up your truck, id be so pissed his stupid *** civic would be pushed into his front door off his shop. I hate when people ruin others stuff. I had too many incidents to just let go.

 

Sounds like he opened the doors wide and squeegeed the tints too hard to remove the bubbles????
He's been pressing against the hinges as he did this far too hard.
Remember, big door and small hinges = a large lever and the forces at the edges of the door will be very high etc.
Just a thought???

But hey, he's still a dick if he's done the damage to your truck and the ding is just inexcusable!

You know the type, were farmers spread the rotting cow dung/slurry on their fields?
A dude did this in the UK against a bank that had screwed his account over.
It made all the press and it must have been sooooo satisfying to cover the whole of the front of that bank with cow sh*tha ha ha.

Could try taking it to a body shop, I know when my driver side got t-boned, both door skins had to be replaced and the hinges were definitely messed up. After they fixed it the doors close like they did the day I bought it. I'm sure a good body shop could get it all straightened out. Also, if you find a really good tint guy, you'll have little to no bubbles. When I had my last vehicle tinted, there was only one tiny bubble on the driver's side, which disappeared in a day or two.

 

I know it was intentional because he only tinted the front windows, and the door ding was on the edge of one of the rear doors. The other 3 doors are all bent. So it looks like he opened all the doors, bent 3 of them and the fouth one hit a wall.

It was definintely intentional. The passenger door is the worst.

 

If it were my Hemi, I am 6'4", 245, with a marshalls art belt, guess what I would do.

 

Go back and beat his *** and risk jail time? I think they've got security cams in their shop.
