The brake switch is attached to the brake pedal - it's what tells the brake lights to turn on. Just follow the brake pedal and look for wires coming off of it - that's the switch.

 

Well someone broke into my truck over the weekend, and although they didn't cause too much damage, the cruise control doesn't work anymore...If I hit the switch it will say "Cruise" as long as I'm not moving, as soon as I move it shuts off, and I can't turn it on again until I stop. Its driving me nuts, well aside from my broken dash and missing items. Would not having a stereo cause this (they stole my dvd deck)...? Thanks!

 

I'm guessing they might have damaged the harness when they tore out the radio. Maybe there's a short?
