20" Clads Dulling?
My stock 20" rims seem to be dulling, at least they are to me. I bought some Mother's Chrome pollish, but It did little to nothing, I noticed that they look really crappy now cause I got the new center caps and they are a lot shineyer than the rims. Is there somthing else I can do or use to make my rims shine again? I don't want to get new rims, I like my 20"'s i just want them to look better.

Becarefull....my friend has the same style rims and come to find out they are plastic covers that are glued onto the rim. He was pissed when he found out. I believe those might be the same. Reach behind the spoke and see if you feel a lip. and tap you ring on it to se if it has a plastic sound.
yeah the whole rim. see my friend thought his were alum. polished. but he found out later they were not. he took the rim off and saw that the cover is glued on to a alum rim. He called the dealership and they told him that is the way they come and if it gets damaged then they will have to replace the whole rim. The covers don't come off. His is a 05-06
My 2008, has the same plastic cladding, has anyone successfully removed it and taken a look at the actual rim? I can assure you, I can remove it, alittle heator alittle solvent and it will breakdown the adhesive, if it is a urethane, alittle activator will go a long ways to dissolve it, just wondering if the rims under it would be worth the effort.

Thanks kniner, I love your display pic[sm=smiley36.gif]. I am going to go get some of that Eagle One Wheel cleaner, like MagnumPower said. Hopefulley It will work better than the Mother's Chrome Polish.
