I wouldn't trade your truck in, you'll lose your butt on everything that you have in it. I would go and buy yourself a set of new rims and tires. Keep the AT set for whenever you want to go offroading. 20 minutes to change the tires out and your gas mileage will improve. Remember also, you have been running on winter blend gas which is not as good. You should be getting better gas mileage as the stations will not have this anymore.

On another note, I agree with the above comments about getting a second vehicle for your running around. You can pick up a good cheap car for under $5k for this.

I agree, take the $3k - $5k you would spend on an old beater and put it into a different rims and a good set of street tires. A decent set of street tires shouldn't run you more than $800+/-. Right now in my RCSB 4x2 HEMI without MDS Im getting around 15 city and 19 highway and I do not drive slow by any means.

The problem I havewith getting a good cheapo car is that you wouldn't be saving a whole lot of money in the long run. In my case I fill up once every week and a halffor about $65. If I were to get a beater I could probably get away with filling up every other week for about $45+/-. So basically I would be saving $40 in gas a month give or take which would be great, but, then comes the insurance on the vehicle which would run around $50-$60 a month and the othe misc costs throughout the year. So for megetting a beater wouldn't workto save money becausein the end I would be paying more altogether to get a beater than to just keepand use the truck.

Put smaller/lighter wheels &tires on your truckand gear it better for fuel economy. No reason you cant get 18-20 mpg. You will only lose money in the end by trading your truck. The best advise is to own your vehicle out right.

depends on how much you drive i guess. I end up with between 1500-2000 miles a month. i'd buy a $600 beater (plenty around here), and use it exclusively to drive to work, which is 50 miles round a day x22=1100 miles. I'd save about $100 a month after insurance.

he's going to end up spending $5k more on a yota than on an equivalent dodge, and then get 1-2mpg more, doesn't sound smart to me. don't get me wrong, i got nothing against yotas. me and my family have driven yotas my whole life. my truck is the first non yota in 15 years, but this isn't a question of which truck, this is a question of if truck.

Get a motorcycle. I was thinking of getting rid of my truck for something more economical, but I always wanted a bike, so I am using the gas prices as my excuse haha. I have an 06 rcsb 2wd hemi ram and I get 14-17 mixed driving depending how heavy my foot is.

you can buy late 90's beater cars for 1K or less, i currently have a 95 Buick LeSabre with the 3800 that i drive to work. sure it looks like crap, hell i haven't washed it in the 3 years i have owned it but it gets 25mpg. not only does it get better mileage but it keeps the miles off of my beloved Hemi too!!!

KEEP YOUR TRUCK!!! unless your finances demand you sell it. if it's just the gas thing buy a beater, you will take alot bigger hittrading in than the cost of a clunker. in most cases your insurance will go down adding an older car as your primarydriver on your policy, a quick callto your agent would answer that though. if you sell it now you will kick yourself later.

The HEMI gets 14 in the city and 18 on the highway. The SRT10 i just don't think about it.

Okay, I'm basied towards real trucks, ie a full 8 ft box, any thing else is a waste of space, a short box hemi will handel like a wet turd due to the short wheal base, only advantage would be drag racing due to less truck, than your spending the same on flue andlose the abilty to move cargo and people.

Ipull 20+ mpg high way in a reg cab 06 25004wd with the hemi and 6sp, but that's at a snail stuck in maple syruip speed of 60 mph...
