Stock for stock the 07/08 Cummins is pushing more hp (350 vs Hemi 345), WAYmore torque (650 vs Hemi 375) and has a turbo. I hate to say it but he will hand a Hemi his *** from 0-60. Spend a little on mods and you will have a truck that eats Vipers for lunch in the 1/4 and will run 10's or 11's all day long.
As much as I like the Hemi, the Tundra will spank it stock for stock also.

yeah I'm not trying to say a 4.7 beats a 5.7, but I dont get racing trucks, never got racing in a straight line. But yes a tundra will beat a hemi, the tundra has a 5.7 and if its the 4wd comes stock with 4.30, and cummins can rock sub 10s with the right stuff. Buy and edge, smarty, fass and 100hp injectors and you'll beat just about anyone on the track.
Good to know you're not having any issues with running 87 in it.
When I was looking for a truck it needed to be 4 door and 4wd, now I would not have bought the 3.7 but I'm happy with the 4.7, no need to punch it, I'm sure my old 20ft pontoon is more weight than most people tow with a hemi and from all the posts ive read here I'm getting better mpg than the hemi.

I owned a 03 QC with a 4.7 and a 05 QC with a Hemi. Now a Mega wiff a Hemi.
Cant put the Mega cab into the mix with the QC cause its so much heavier.
Now the 4.7 aint no slouch, but its got nothing, zero on the Hemi.
03 was a SLT 4x4 and the 05 was a ThunderRoad.

Despite the lower power rating, I would put money on certain Hemi Rams beating CTDs stock for stock. I've pulled on a stock CTD in my 4.7L. The weight off sets the additional power and then some. A 1500 RCSB Hemi probably weighs about 1000lbs lighter than any stock CTD truck. Now, if you were racing say 2 2500 quad cab long beds, one Hemi, one diesel, then I'd say the diesel would be quicker. Once again, that is stock for stock.
A kid at school has a civic and he's always looking for races. I finally gave in one day and we went twice from a stop. 1st time, he staged at 5k rpm since he can't spin. I simply floored it at the green light. I roasted the tire (no lsd). He took off with the early lead, but by 45mph I was winning and pulling hard. The second time, neither of us staged. He didnt stand a chance.
More impressive than beating a little civic, a few weeks later, I was messing around with an Accord, Tiburon, and 3rd Gen Eclipse. They couldn't touch me from 75 to 90 (when I let off) Needless to say, I was quite impressed with the 4.7 at that time

My 4.7 will run circles around my Hemi, and my Hemi is HEAVILY MODDED, my 4.7 only has a K&N drop in!!!
My 4.7 is the H.O. and more importantly is in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. My truck is modded for off-road and weighs in at close to 7000 lbs. Not really a fair fight. Even after I finish the truck off with the cam & SCT tune, I don't think it would still touch the GC...

Those 4.7L Grand Cherokees are pretty quick for what they are. I've raced a few of them and have never won. I almost had one once but I was hauling a few hundred additional pounds in the bed at the time and it was also from a stop which is bad for me because my race muffler loses low end torque but gives it top end power.
Haha, now that I think of it, Hammer, your Jeep will run circles around your Dodge... My Dodge would destroy my Jeep (which is my off roader) in a race. I think the only vehicle I'd have a slim shot at beating in my Rubicon would be a JK Unlimited.
