OK 4.7 guys I need advice
I am pricing exhaust systems and will soon have one installed, single in dual out. I have narrowed it to Magnaflow, Flowmaster or Gibson. I do not want it real loud and I do alot of highway driving so drone at 1800-2300 RPM is a concern. The guy at Meineke was pushing the 40 series Flowmaster but that may be too loud for my taste at highway speeds. My only reason for changing is MPG so any help would be appreciated.

At todays prices any gain is good. I would like to get 2 out of it then add a CAI and see what that does.

Well a man can dream can't he!! I can't find anyone who wants to replace the "Y" collector for me so I will probably get the flowmaster one from Air Ram when I order the CAI and do it myself. That should help the flow out quite a bit, I got under there yesterday and looked at it and they really collapsed the tubes on mine, Looks pretty CMFM.
Which Y-pipe did you get? The dual 2.25 into single 3 inch? Post pics when you are done I need to replace my Y-pipe too.

flowmaster mufflers have gotten a lot of flack for being relatively restrictive mufflers. They aim for sound, not performance. If you can, stay with the magnaflow or even a gibson.
It's a done deal, the 18" magnaflow will be installed tomorrow at 2:00 with 3.5" SS tips!!!! Thanks for all of the advice, I'll let you know how it go's.
Red06ram I have not ordered the Y yet but you can find it on airram.com. do a search for flowmaster and it will be the last item. Nobody seemed to want to mess with it so I will do that part myself. I will post pics of the exhaust when it is done. The Y will have to wait till I go back to Oklahoma and get my welder and have access to dads tube bender.
