Default A/C Blower motor problem

(2002 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, 4.7L) Yesterday my A/C was working perfectly. When I cranked my truck this morning for work and turned on the A/C the blower would not work on any of the lower speeds, only high. When I switched the blower from high to a lower speed the blower would turn completely off and the compressor light would go out, shutting the system down. When I turned it back to high the compressor would come back on and the blower would blow cold air. I have checked all the fuses in the main fuse box under the hood, but all fuses appear to be good. Where do I need to troubleshoot? Is there another fuse somewhere? It would appear to be something simple, but I don't what to look for....thanks.

Allright had this problem on my truck thats how I can tell u 2 fix it. Look under the pass. side dash, should be a 4 wire plugged into a plate with 2 screws in it. Unplug and remove the plate, when you do you'll see a small piece of spring aluminum has pulled away from the post. Resolder it and that sould fi ur problem once you hook it all back up!!

I too have had this problem. The solder from the factory is not all that strong. Simply clean off all the old solder and redo it. It'll work like new.

Also, when you drop the part out of the blower box be prepared for leaves, twigs, etc. to fall out onto the floor board.

Mine did the same thing a few years ago. I did the same repair. Yesterday it started to do the same thing. I took out the plate. Leaves came out. Resoldered again, works fine.

There was a recall on this plug. My 02 4.7 was replaced when i brought it in for other service back in 2003.

I am also having an intermittent A/C blower as well. Does this fix apply to an 06 Ram as well? Thanks
