a/c sucks at idle
Check the fan on the condenser (looks like a small radiator next the the radiator)...it should be on the whole time the a/c is on. If it's not on or is very weak then that's your prob. At idle you don't have air going through the condenser without the fan which causes the a/c temp to go up.
It's the biggest issue for me regarding these trucks. The AC just sucks at idle. The radiator design is brilliant; giving the condenser its own separate location & electic fan is ideal. Why it doesn't translate into cold air at idle in a real mystery.
I converted my 92 Chevy to efans and had ice cold air at idle. Maybe it's the refrigerant change (or level) but I don't think it's unreasonable to ask my 11-year-newer truck to have AC at least as good as my old one.

our clutch fan on our rads seems a lil small to me, so you gotta wonder when at idle where all the heat from the other rads are going? Dont forget the evaporator gets no air.... And the number one reason, aren't our compressors belt driven??????? Ding ding ding.
Ive always said I would pay 2 grand extra on a veh for an upgraded ac system, like having 8 vents, 4 in the dash, two in the ceiling and 2 in the rear. My mercedes had rear air but no ceiling vents. I can't imaging how ****ty its got to be in the back of a black mega cab.

Hmm - so how can I tell if my fan is going slower than it's supposed to? It looks ok but I don't have another Ram to compare it to.
