Considering buying an 07/08 HEMI actual real world mpg/opinions?
Around 23 highway and 16-17 in town, I do mostly city driving so my mpg isn't too good. This is with a RCSB 2WD 17" wheels though...and I have decent driving habits most of the time
I've got an 08 quad cab, with da Hemi, and da 20s I get around 13mpg pretty consistantly around town. I haven't had the chance to bring it up on the hiway for more than a few miles at a time, so I'm not sure what the hiway mpg is....
Give you a lil comparison. My neighbor has an 07 quad cab with the V-6, and he get about the same milage. I'm not sure of his driving habits, but......

Mine ('06 5.7, 20", short box) gets about 16.5 regularly puttering around, and I've been as high as 22 on trips, but that was driving quite slow (55) following my buddy who was pulling a camper. Typical trips (60 MPH or so) I get about 18-19. For me, controlling my foot does about as much for mileage as anything.....I drive very deliberate to save fuel. I have a set of 17" that i haven't put on yet, looks like I need to get them on quickly! BTW, at least with my truck, the in-cab mileage gauge is useless...at least if you're looking for precision. And my mileage does vary 15% or so summer to winter. Heck, even a really windy day seems to have an impact!
I use my RAM QC hemi 20sonly for the commute to work which is mostly highway with some hillsabout 35 minutes each way.
I find if I keep it under 60 in cruise control, I am averaging almost 20mpg!I am getting about 440 mi for a 22-23gal fillup, I write everything down. The overhead is somewhat accurate.
On highway trips with no stop and start,it has shown to get 22mpg.
But if you accelerate hard even once or twice it will destroy your average. Driven around town it gets less than 15mpg.

I've got an '08 Hemi Quad Cab with 20's and MDS. It's new, but so far I've gotten about 17 with mixed driving. I try to be gentle with the pedal. This weekend I did a big 500 mile trip with a 4 wheeler in the bed and two on a trailer behind it, and I averaged 12.5, according to the console. I was pretty impressed with the handling while towing - I could barely tell I had the trailer and weight in the bed.
