Your best mileage
ORIGINAL: Whitelightning08
I just traded in my 04 hemi for a 08. My 04 would get 21.4 mpg at 70 mph. Now my 08 even with all the mods I get 17.3 mpg. I only have 1800 miles on it now but I'm assuming after breakin I will get better. Does anyone know how long breakin is so I can get better mpg?

19.9 in the Hemi. Overhead about 200 miles on the highway. This was BEFORE my wheels/tires.
18.9 in the SRT. About a 500 mile trip on the highway (overhead).

I have a combined average of 16.3. If I drive like a maniac from red light to red light 13.4. If I drive "gas-consious" I can get 17.4 on the highway driving at exactly 70mph. I now have 14K miles on a 2008 QC 4wd 4.7L. If I drive on some country roads and I am doing 60 and under then it jumps up to 20.5. All hand calculated. Also just a note I know every rags on the overhead and I have had my fair share of Dodge overhead lies, I will say that my 08 has never been off by more than 0.2mpg from hand calcs. Also if you use the overhead and keep resetting at different speeds and different accelerations you can then see what driving adjustments you need to make to get to a certain gas mileage.
P.s. On strictly ethanol I get a combined average of 14.4 or 12.2 in the city.

I drive an '02 QC SLT 4x4 with a 4.7L V8and my running average (according to my overhead- which i do not trust) I average 12.6 mpg. This seems fairly low compared to most of you guys on here. I do not towthings on a daily basis, and drive pretty leisurely. No lift and stock 17's.
