Default Your best mileage

Well what is your best gas mileage you have achieved? Let us know if it was hand calculated or over head computer numbers. My computer is about 2 mpg's better than the actual numbers. Let us know your year, option group, motor, mods and trim style and whether it was city driving or highway or mixed.

Well I just got back from a road trip with my 06, rcsb, 2wd, slt, hemi ram. I have a true flow intake, dumped exhaust, 3.92's and an auburn limited slip. It was all highway averaging 80 miles per hour and I got 19.9 miles per gallon, hand calculated.

What's your best so far?

My best so far is: City - 15.4
Highway - 18.9

This is by hand, not computer!

I go on a couple of hunting trips a year, and follow a buddy pulling a heavy camper. He goes 55, and while following him I got 22 MPG, I filled up when we got to our destination and calculated it.

Heavily modded and very heavy, I'm now getting about 14 general purpose mixed driving since changing to Royal Purple (up about 1 mpg). Recent trip to Ga. & back (before oil switch) was just over 16 with a 650 lb. ATV in the bed. I find that the over-head consistently gives a reading about .1-.3 better than I actually get and that's with the PCM calibrated for tires measured at 34.75" tall...

I just traded in my 04 hemi for a 08. My 04 would get 21.4 mpg at 70 mph. Now my 08 even with all the mods I get 17.3 mpg. I only have 1800 miles on it now but I'm assuming after breakin I will get better. Does anyone know how long breakin is so I can get better mpg?

Mine stays around 17. Overhead says 18.1 but on paper it's about .7 off. That's about 80% highway and trying to keep a light foot. I have my superchips on the performance tune. Also a cat back and a K+N intake.

Whitelighting, What mods did you have on your 04?

15 MPG Hand calculated driving to and from work at about 45 MPH for 18 miles each way. Over head computer said 14.6 so it was close enough for my taste.

I have seen a best of 24.3 MPG on the overhead in my 2007 regular cab SLT with a 30" tire, 3.55 gears, 4.7 flex fuel, 5 spd automatic, 2.25" true dual exhaust with x pipe and 2 chamber Thrush mufflers, running on 100% 87 octane gas, not the E10 blend BS. That was achieved on a leisurley country drive with a mix of hilly and flat roads, with speeds varying from 40-50 mph on the flats, speeding up to 70 down hill, and coasting up hills. No cruise control used. I'm sure that if I had a manual transmision it would have been 1-2 mpg better. When I calculated by hand, it was 24.2 mpg. I drove 230 miles, and when I refilled the tank it took me 9.5 gallons. Yes, I love to go on long, pointless drives. It's relaxing.
