This is a quick sound video I took of my Cherrybomb Vortex. The system is 3" into dual 2.5" out. Unfortunatley, I may be going back to the stock muffler because of a 1500-1900rpm drone at highway speed. My wife and 6 month old son is bothered by it alot. The video was taken 15 feet away on a 5 foot high tri-pod.The mic on the camera doesnt capture the low end bass of the system. It shakes the ground.My rig is a non-MDS2006 Hemi 2500 HD.

It's a shame if you have to go back to stock because that exhaust sounds perfect. I don't know what it us about MDS Hemi's, but most guys report a really annoying drone when going to aftermarket exhausts...

 

geez. that soudns awesome man. your truck seems incredibly responsive...

 

I played around with it and I dont know how to get rid of the 1500-1700rpm-drone. It is badin 4th and 5th gear. If the drone was at 3000rpm, I could live with it, but its right where the truck likes to cruise at. Its all about engine and pipe harmonics. From what I have read it is quit common with other mufflers as well. It does sound bitchin around town.

 

i would just look for a quieter muffler does sounds nice i have a flowmaster 40 single in duel out with nothing after the muffler sets right under thecab its very load down the highway can barely talk to someone in the back seat

 

try putting the resonator on before the muffler that should do it.

 

Sound deadener on the floor of your truck....under the carpet. That usually helps a ton.
