Can the dealer tell if you used a programmer after you put stock setting back? I have an 08 Megacab and would like to get a programmer. Can the dealer detect if one has been used after you put the stock setting back..?? I have the bumper to bumper lifetime warrenty and do not what to void it.

They can if they really want to, but never look. It takes to much work on the computer to locate old tunes and updates. They will just pull up the current program loaded and compare to what needs to be there. The only way you will get screwed is if your truck breaks, and you have it towed to the dealer. You won't have time to tune back to stock and this will get you in trouble.

You can go with either the Bully Dog or the Superchips. Both do the same thing tune wise, it will usaully come down to which one you find cheaper. Usually it is the BD that you will find cheaper unless you buy the Triple dog. Look for the Bullly Dog Power Pup programmer.
Another good tuner from what I hear is the SCT tuner. A little more on the pricey side, but better if you plan on major engine mods. The BD and the SC work great if you plan on CAI, exhaust and maybe a cam.

Legally they can't refuse a warranty repair unless they can prove, 100% that the programmer caused the problem (see Magnusson/Moss Act). I'm in the same town as KRC Performance so my local dealer is used to seeing alternative tunes. They have told me there is no reason to even return it to stock.
As far as the tuner you choose goes, SCT is the way to go with any major mods - INCLUDING CAM!For your run of the mill CAI, Cat-Back trucks the Superchips and Bully Dog are pretty close as far as engine tuning goes, but the Superchips has a pretty strong advantage in the Tranny firmness and shift point department...

My buddy is a long time Dodge mechanic, I just brought my brand new MC in for a 3K oil change and told them I had the SC for the tire size as they were telling me that the tranny has a harder time if the tire size was off.... long story short the SC can get the tire size closer than the tranny specialist there.... they said no problem as long as you don't change and over rev the motor...
other than tire size mine really doesn't do much yet (superchips 3815)
