hello there, newbie here...just purchased a 2008 1500 Mega Cab 4x4....I've done some digging on the forums here and various other sites re: suspension, axles, and gearings for this "1500" truck. What are the differences, if any, between a 2008 Mega Cab in 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton with the hemi? Only thing I seem to find is towing capacity. Thanks for the help to all....look forward to getting to know you guys.

 

Welcome to the forum. Be prepared to get some razzing about buying a 1500 mega cab Hemi with the gas prices the way they are right now, I used to drive an 04 2500 CTD but got rid of it just before the price of diesel went through the roof. Loved the 2500 and love my 07 1500. I know you will too. Just don't be like some of these other people trading in their trucks so they can buy Kias or CTS's, lol! Oh and post some pics ASAP!

 

From what I have found the only differenceis the 2 overload springs that the 2500/3500 models have - other than that - it's the same truck.

 

yeah and mine has the OL springs on it as well....

thanks for the input guys.....yeah, I figure with gas prices the way they are I might as well thumb my nose at palm shapped islands in Dubai and practice some good old American excess. My prior truck wasn't much better with the MPG anyway, they practically gave this one away on the Dodge lot....couldn't leave without it. Great truck, very impressed thus far with my first Dodge. I'll be sure to post some more pic's soon. thanks again.
