Hello there all. New to the forum here....I just bought a new Ram 1500 Mega Cab SLT 4x4 and am needing to put tow hooks on it. From what bit of research I've done thus far it seems that the hooks are quite different from the 1500 and the 3/4 and 1 ton pickups. Now, my 1500 truck is on a 3/4 ton suspension and axle's from what I understand......so I don't know if I need to buy the light duty tow hooks or the heavy duty tow hooks. Installation appears to be very much different for both. Does anyone know definatively which route I should go? Light duty is Mopar part #82209854 and the heavy duty is part #82207917. Thanks for the input, I've historically been a GM man, so please excuse the Mopar ignorance.

 

I would assume it would take the HD tow hooks, but it's just speculation on my part. PM Parts/Service, if he doesn't know for sure off-hand, he has the resources to look it up fast...

 

I am going to say that you should be able to use either. But, you truck is considered a "DM", meaning 1500/2500 Mega cab. When I look up the hooks that would have came on your truck from the factory, it lists the 2500/1500 as the same hook. So I would say to get the heavy duty (82207919) just for the added stregnth...Hope this helps....

 

Mine appear to be the HD hooks, and they are factory....

 

thanks for the help....the stock number you gave of 82207919 is actually a rear seat entertainment system for a mini-van, keeping me honest already eh? simple typo, funny...thanks again.

The tow hooks from the 2500/3500 are the same p/n for the mega cabs, I just had them put on mine., Hope this helps.
