Default tire delima

I have a 2005 4x4 laramine with a 2.5" leveling kit installed. I like the kit and i think that it did make the truck look a little more agressive. Now I am looking for new tires to fit my stock 17" wheels. How large of a tire can I go with. I want to go with the largest tires i can because i am thinking about the 3" body lift. IF i buy too small of tires now it will look funny with the lift. So my question is can i get the right tires now and possibly lift later or am i going about this backwards?

35" tires are what you can fit now. ANd they look great with the 3" body lift. With a 3" you "CAN" fit 37" but IMO it looks gay. 35"'s look way better

Not sure how a 37" tire would look gay but I guess that's why it's your OPINION. There are a ton of guys with 37's on their trucks that look much better than the 35's.

so some of the shops are telling me that i cant fit them. Is this what you have. Identical set up. And they will fit now with the leveling kit only?

You don't want to go to 37" tires with a truck with cv axles anyway. You don't have the luxury of a solid front end will wear components out fast, not to mention increase your risk of a major failure. Fit 35's on there for now, it'll be a little tight and may rub a little on tight turns or off-road, but nothing major. They'll be KILLER when you add the body lift...

From what I've seen, '02-'05s are ok with the stock wheel, '06+ trucks need wheels with more backspacing. But IMO, you go to a setup like that, you are going to want a nice wheel with good backspacing anyway, something with about a 4.5".

Oh, yea and by the way, NEWBIE:

I'm VERY WELL KNOWN for posting that particular smiley...
It simply means, we want to see a pic of your truck. Also it'll help us get a general idea of which options would work for you. If you put up a pic of your truck, I'd not need to ask you information about it, such as what year, torsion bar front end or coil overs, etc. All these things make a difference in what options are available to you.

Plus, most importantly, I like to look at Dodge truck pics. My 2nd favorite type of pics in the whole world...

cool i understand. I hate to keep buggin but you do understand my problem right. I want to go with the biggest tires i can now so i wont have to buy new when i lift the truck. if i do. so you think i can go with 35's but your saying they would look better with aftermarket rims right. is that just to make them mount up better and sick out more?
