Default Ram Ball Joints

Lat year I purcahsed a 05' 1500 quad cab. This is my first Dodge. The truck only has 43K on it and I am already having to replace the front ball joints. This seems a little early to have ball joints go bad. Has anyone else had any experiance with 1500 ball joints? If so, can you offer any wisdom?

Yup, known issue. With the whole line, from our 1500's through the big bad diesel's.
Every brand has a couple of achilles' heels. I don't think the Rams have any more than other trucks, this is just one of ours...

ya, just did mine a few weeks ago. get your ball joints from ebay. it'll save you a ton of money. fairly easy install for the uppers and a little more involved for the lowers. and the upper comes with the whole control arm. a word of advice when installing, tighten the clamp that holds the boot on....mine popped off when i was installing it and what a b!tch that was trying to get the boot back on!

Mine went bad at around 36,001 miles LOL
I got all 4 off of Ebay for 189.00. macautoparts was the seller I believe. PM me if you need their info.
Plan on a long day to do them all if you do them yourself. Plan on about 800 a side if you have them done.
