I just bought my first New Dodge Pickup, an 07 2500 with a 5.7 Liter Hemi. Under engine it says 5.7-Liter HEMI (R)V8 Engine. How do I tell if it is an MDS engine?

 

They did not put the MDS HEMI is the 2500's Only the 1500's have MDS....Mega Cab 1500s do not have it as well.

 

2500 hemi's don't have MDS, and your better off with out it, MpG is better in a 1500 ram. but the 2500 is a worker, don't make sense to work only with 4cy.

I have a 06 2500 with the hemi.

Exhaust sound is better with the stock muffler of after market exhaust with out the MDS. 2500/3500 only have one muffler from the factory.

 

There's only one muffler on all the rams...they do have 1 or 2 resonators depending on the truck model. Mine had a resonator before the muffler and one by the tailpipe...i've heard some only have the tailpipe one though.

Sound is allmatter of opinion...I could barely hear my exhaust even at WOT with the stock setup.
