Default 2008 Mega Cab Questions

Hey all, I'm new and have a few questions....

1. I put on LT315's in place of the 265's that came stock. They are D rated instead of E and the Tire Pressure monitor System is reallyirritating.... any solutions? I'm running about 45PSI all the way around

2. As well as the TPMS, now the speedo is off, any solutions?

3. Its the Hemi, what kind of milage should I expect?

4. I love the truck but Dodge says no fixes for these problems.... there must be a way?

Thanks,
Tim

No help on the TPMS.

I believe superchip or one of the other programmers can fix your speed-o-meter/tire size.

I would think 15 mpg tops on hwy, less likely. The programmer may improve this if you leave your foot out of it.

I don't know about the TPMS, what's it saying? Assuming You are using stock wheels and the tire pressure is the same as stock, then you shouldn't have any problems. All it does is monitor pressure.

The speedo is off because you changed your tire size, the dealer should be able to recalibrate your speedo for a fee, or you can get a superchip which will allow you to recalibrate it yourself, but i'm not sure what superchips has available for the '08.

As for mileage, hold onto your butt, I get 9-11MPG. This truck is a heavy monster! I just installed a Superchip, so I'll see if I pick up any MPG's on the next fill up. I only have 4000 miles on my truck, so maybe I'll pick up a little MPG's once I get some more miles on the engine.

TPMS - no clue

speedo/tire size - you can take it to a dealer and have them do it for 30 bucks - mine is still off a bit - I use GPS or you can get a programmer.

Mileage - today doing 65 relativly flat road slight wind at the back I got 17.5mpg on a 20 mile trip - I am really pumped about this. But normal is 14.5 or so at 65 and anywhere from 8.5/9-10/10.5 in the city - that is with the 3.73 gears if you have 4.10's you will probably do a little bit better.

ThaChad - I have 27K on mine and the mileage doesnt get any better - be sure and post up if the superchips helps with your mileage though.

Also Timmerduder - you didnt say you installed a leveling kit, are you getting any rub with the 315's?

Thanks guys,

I do have stock wheels but I went to the dealer as well as talked to a friend that is a 10yr+ Dodge mechanic and they say the software since 06 does not allow them to callibrate the speedo. As far as the TPMS like I said I have load D tires and they can't take 60PSI in the front as suggested. The light on the dash and the bell is just kind of irritating is all. I also talked with Dodge corporate today and they say there is no factory way to do such a thing. I think that is not only silly but could have some safety reprocussions....

Thanks again

yes I did the 1 3/4" leveling kit, no rubs with the 315's.... about 1/2" clearance when in full turn....

I have a whopping 300 miles on it so far and get about 11.5mpg's 1/2 road, 1/2 city

Your Mileage looks better than mine!

What's werid is when I first reprogramed with the superchip, I went on a drive and just mashed it, My MPG's went Up!! Now I drive it under normal conditions again, and it just keeps going down. According to the overhead computer. I usually get about 2-4 MPG's better than what my Overhead computer says by calculating my miles on fill-up.
