Hank......WTF was all that???? He didn't want specs on the engine or the history, he asked how to break it in! Did you READ????

I did a few burts form 1/4-3/4 throttle while moving. That was when the truck was under 100miles. After I got past 100miles I did full throttle while moving a few times and ran it up to 65-70mph and then just back right off. Don't do high speeds for lengths of time! I allowed the enine to slow me down for the most part when I could get away with it since I always used Tow Haul mode while breaking it in!!! USE TOW HAUL MODE or O/D as it turns off mds. The mds lugs the engine and lugging is not good. I cannot believe Chrysler didn't program the ecu to have mds start after 500miles.
Now, I started towing at 400miles. I never drove the truck and I needed to tow so I went out and put a few miles on it. I had the truck 4months and it only had 150miles on it....lol I picked it up with 26. After you get to 500 or so, drive it like you normally would. I changed my oil just before 1,000miles for my first change.

the very short version:

How to break in a 5.7 Hemi
so that piston ring tension quickly goes down
and high rpm horsepower goes up:

"During a 260-h period, the HEMI was deep-shock, thermal-tested: the full throttle running engine was heated to 240°F (115°C) then hit with coolant temperatures of -20°F (-29°C).
Sixteen engines were tested to double life or beyond, and the first 1000 engines were dynamometer tested at the new Saltillo Engine Plant II in Saltillo, Mexico."

(this is not the way to break an engine in for long life)

Typical... he doesn't share with us how HE broke in his engine and how many miles he got on the motor afterwards. Instead he references some obscure tangential article. What a joke.

Don't run it up to 240 degrees then pour -20 degree coolant in it during break-in. I quit doing that years ago!!!

I prefer to run my new vehicles for 24 hours with a brick on the gas pedal and the truck in neutral. Then I sink the truck to the bottom of a pond and perform 'wet condition break in'

All in all, I get about 12 miles out of them.

My flux capacitor failed when I tried to break in my engine in. I cannot find a dealer that knows what they are talking about?
