Smell coming from A/C.
When I start my 2002 Ram 1500 4.7 V8, I get a weird smell that comes from the air conditioning, kind of smells like dirt. After a few seconds, it goes away. Either that, or I get used to it lol.
Anyways, the only mods I have to anything air related is my CAI.
When I took my huge *** stock resonator off for the air intake, I put your standard CAI cone filter on there, and on the other little teeny hose that goes inside the stock resonator [which I can't figure out what that is for the life of me so someone please help me out and tell me what that is!], I put a teeny little CAI filter cap.
So two questions.
1. Does anyone know what the dirt smell could possibly be?
2. Does anyone know what the little tube was?

If you look carefully, you can see the other little filter I'm talking about.
Thanks!

Mildew and fungus can build up in the A/C system. I believe I read dodge has a TSB out for the smell. I'm not sure what it is or what vehicles are covered.
I got this is from the Chiltons manual. I'm actually going to try some lysol in mine this afternoon (nothing open here on Sunday to get anything stronger).

The small hose is the fresh air inlet for your PCV system. Throwing a small filter on it is perfect.
