Default 07 1500 ?'s

hello everyone,
i am looking at an 07 1500. got a few questions and figured this is the place to ask.
first the specs:

07 1500 bighorn edition 4X4
4.7l v8
37,000mi (yeah, got some miles)
manual tranny

first thing i noticed was that the front shocks look like they have blown a seal. i haven't been able to find anythingrelated online. is this common on a year old dodge vehicle? what brand of shock is the oem shock?

is the gearing 3.93 or 3.55?

anyone have any experience with the front ends "flaking" out? i noticed by the tire wear, this vehicle is in need of an alignment.looks like the previous owner drove this truck fairly hard. carfax comes up clean.

any known towing issues?

i found an article about the fuel cell(34 or 36 gal tank, cant remember which) in a june 2007 recall. what's the story there?

i appreciate any feedback. just another average joe trying to make an educated decision.
cheers...

Id be interested to know the price of the truck. Given the market on evil gas guzzling trucks, they are going for next to nothing. Id be willing to bet you could get into a brand new 08 for a damn close if not better price than that used 1. Just my .02

+1

I got my '08 for almost $12k less than sticker.

If the truck you're looking at is a Big Horn, I'm assuming it has the 20" wheels. I'd have to guess that it has 3.92 gears, as I haven't seen any trucks with 20's having 3.55's.

Try PMing Parts/Service with the VIN. He can tell you what the truck was outfitted with originally.

i heard something about issues with leaking shocks. it was a supplier issue and dodge was fixing those under warranty.

Funny, the one your looking at is 1,000 miles out of warranty. Does that tell you something? Unless it is unbelievably cheap I would move on. A little shopping could get you a new one for not much more.
