Default check engine light?

Driving down the highway doing about 7....60 yeah and all of a sudden the check engine light pops on along with the little red lightning bolt of death and then my truck starts to decelerate while my foot was on the gas. I pulled over and everything looks fine so I went home. Turned the truck off and then back on and the lil'red bolt is gone, but the check engine light is still there. I go to get it looked at and on the way there I noticed that it was handling like normal? So I pass on getting it check till this Friday when I get paid next.

I wonder what it was or is?

My Truck is a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi V8 I bought it a little less then a year ago at carmax. My $2000 prepaid for warranty just ran out about 2000 miles or so ago. bull**** I know.

You can always stop by an Autozone or most any auto parts chain store. They'll scan it for free so you will know for sure...

Almost two months later and this crap happened again! (once again I just filled up on Kroger gas)

I'm getting sick of this crap. Is there anyway I can trade in my truck for a newer one even though I still owe like $18k on this one?

Did you ever look into the problem or did you just ignore it? What did the scan tell you?
If you just ignored it and crossed your fingers...well...that usually doesn't fix things.

I had major gas cap problems on our 2000 Dakota & 2004 dodge ram 2500.7 on the Dakota & 4 on the ram. No prblems with the 08' yet-knock on wood.
