Default 04 Ram 1500 4x4 Squeaky Frontend

Well lately the squeaks have been getting worse and worse on my truck. If you hit a bump it squeaks real bad. Thought it was the shocks and bought a set of new take offs and that didnt help.

I had the tbars cranked and after the squeaking started I put it back to stock specs. So if you turn the wheel side to side the noise is coming from the drivers side spindle area. If you Lift the truck on a jack there is no noise. It only does it with a load. As of now I think it is the wheel bearing assembly. But I dont know if a bad wheel bearing would make an awefull squeaking noise. Also ive had the leaky hose on my PS and I put the clamp on the hose and it seemed to help me. But Ive always kept up on the fluid level.

If I push real hard up and down on the front bumper I can get it to squeak. Also if there is no load on the frontend( Frontend jacked up) It will not squeak.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I bet you anything it is the hood. Loosen the stops so they raise, get it adjusted correctly and your worries will be over.

Had the exact same problem on my 03 2500. Midas told be the ball joints. $1200(OUCH!)

Took it to the dealer (extended warranty) the said they replaced the u-joints. Now I have absolutely no more squeak. Also, had a little wiggle in my steering before and that was fixed as well.

Hope it helps.

I'll be the third to pipe up for ball joints. Does it squeek if you rock the truck back and forth when it's sitting still? Deep, low squeek? I just had he same thing!

I know this is an old post.......but a question to the OP....what was the problem? The sounds and the symptoms are exactly what I'm hearing on my truck.
