Default new radio

i got my hands on my friends old radio out of i wanna say his 07 ram and i was wondering if they sold a harness or some kit to where i can install it in my 03

You might be able to put a couple of those together to make a custom harness. Forum is rejecting long messages again.

they dont make like a special one thats designed for that, ill give them a call tomorrow and see what they say about it

yeah its the newer stock one and i dont mind doing some cutting, but the plugs dont match up

Nothing will work for that unit. On '06's and up the radio wiring is connected to the computer and needs this to work. When you go aftermarket, they just bypass this setup for the radio to work. In short, no the radio will not work no matter what you do. I had to research this when I gave my radio away on the forum last year.

The radio is turned on using a can bus system. It's basically a computer system that communicates using 1 wire in the vehicles and sends data signals via that wire to control different things, monitor systems, and diagnostics There is no other way to turn the radio on.

Your truck does not have this nor can you have it put it, so the radio is pretty much a paper weight.
