I am looking to upgrade my sound system. I am thinking of putting a DVD player in the dash. Anybody got any suggestions for one? preferably one that doesnt fold out. I am also looking to put some subs ( propably only two tens ) in the back of my quad cab under the seats along with an amp or two. anybody have any suggestions on subs and amps maybe evrn an all in one box that goes under the seats? thanks

http://www.subthump.com/dodgeram.htm, Here is a premade box you can get to have cut outs for 10 inch subs and 12 inch. The box is exactly the same except for the cut out. Ive tried with both 10's and 12's and this box is better suited to the 10's. As for subs obviously your going to need something that works well in a small sealed box so i'd recommend the SEseries by RE http://www.reaudio.com/specs.html#sp_se.They work very well in small sealed applications.Amp wisefor those subs id use something in the 1200 watt rms range. Maybe the1200 watt amp JBLmakes.DVD deck are you looking for a double DIN if your not looking for a fold out???

if you have a double din dash, available for 06 upb not for my 04 , i recommend the pioneer p4000dvd. i've been looking into dvds a lot lately, and this is a great deal. can be had with all hardware for about $400. search p4000dvd on ebay, $375 for unit, i figure $25-50 for harness and etc from other places. and Pioneer makes great head units with great sound too.

btw branden, great find with subthump. a lot of people in here looking for something like that.

i went on crutchfield and did some looking around and that pioneer unit won't fit. i'm assuming since i have a regular stock cd player and not a stock dvd/nav unit. the only ones that would fit are the flip up ones. who knows maybe there is one out there that will fit. cause i have heard those flip up ones like to burn out the motor on the display and not flip up.

i just got my 05 back a couple days ago
i got an alpine iva-w505 head unit installed in the dash, which docks with the alpine black bird 2 nav unit.
i got the backup cam, ipod integration, 1 ten inch alpine sub under the back seat and boosted the sub & stock speakers with a 6 channel jl audio amp.

if ya realy want to bump i suggest 2 10's
but 1 is pleanty for a VERY nice sounding system. (and i still got room for my 12 guage under the back bench )

and i realy recomend the alpine screen over pioneer!!!

alpine screen has 2v preouts...... while a nice screen that puts it at a huge disadvantage over the pioneer 4000 with 4v preouts. even tho the alpine has more features with bluetooth and such that's all glossy stuff. but in pure sound realm as in what will sound better with an amplifier hooked up the pioneer will win. nothing beats high voltage pretous. plus for what ur getting in that alpine you could spend 100 bux more get a pioneer with the same exact things but with one huge advantage.... It would have built in navigation. can't really compare the 505 at 1100 bux to the pioneer at 300 lol

C RAM it wil fit you just have to get teh double din bezel from mopar for a truck that came with nav. very simple thing to do.

if you wanna spring the 100-150 for it, you can VERY EASILY replace your bezel with the double din bezel. The hardest part is coughing up the money. they just about pull right out, maybe a couple easy philips screws here and there.

this is what mine looks like with subs, in the box, The Double DIN isn't overly hard when you get the rightdash piece. If i remember correctly its one phillips screw and then a pull and the dash is out. I have a Clarion Flip up screen and it has been serving me well for over 2 years now, just food for thought.
