dude, i wish you lived close to Chicago cuz i owe you a 6 pack.

My radio doesn't stay on after I turn the key off anyway, so I won't 'lose' that.
The Cig lighter (that my starter button is now in) is only hot when key is in the on position, so I can wire power from there no problem. I think those are rated for 12 amps, I don't think a head unit will mess up that wire unless I run it full blast all the time. Or do you think I should put a relay in there?

I figured that harness did something simple. amazing they cost $160 retail for something that simple.

I'd find a bit more heavier gauge wire but that's me i always play it on the safe side. look for the accessory wire for the starter and such in the steering column region and such.

Ben, I ended up having to get that acc. module for my truck. I couldnt get past it, and then took it to my shop and even they couldnt get power to the radio without putting in that module. Now it works great, and it does stay on until I close my door (which I like alot). I tried running it to the constant cig lighter and didnt work, then the one that is only on when they truck is on, didnt work...then i ran a wire all the way to my radio...DIDNT WORK! The guy at my shop told me that it has to do with some solenoids or something
Im about to order a fox box for my truck, but I ran over my iPhone and have to wait on buying the box to buy another phone...lol but what 6x9s do you reccomend if im using the stock amps and also what 5 1/2s? what about tweeters?

Starter is off of a relay somewhere under the hood. The wire that comes off the column is pretty small. No big deal, I'll run a wire into the cab from under the hood for it, with a relay off of the cig lighter. Probably the smarter way of doing it.

My 04 is different from an 07 Matt. I figure I'll Try without it, and bite the bullet and get it if I need it.

somethings not right with whats goin ont here matt. if you meter a acc 12v and constant 12v and plug them into the respective wires on the radio it should power up. if it doesn't something isn't right

as well as friends and even my boats and atv...I tried and tried and I thought it
was just the 100degree weather and loads of sweat getting to me...and then JJ at the shop
said he will never do a newer Dodge install again, he lost money on it...

speakers comes down to one thing and one thing only. budget. speaker quality is almost always related directly to price. my personal favorites are polk MOMO or SR components, JL EVOLUTION ZR components, KICKER RS AND SS series are good as well. JBL GTI Components as well. these speakers range in the 300-5000 dollar ranger

did you meter the wires you were using or just guessing on what they were.
