...so they started talking and he got my price down to $450...
OMG! My head is going to explode!! I've written and deleted like 30 different lines here.

Mine went out also. Replaced under warranty at about 40k miles.

lol ya know when someone knows ur mom and they knock down a price by 100 dollars.... saying those things together really leaves you open for some sort of milf joke. and ^^^ 30k miles jeez that's early. luckily before the 36k warranty went upp

Don't take it to a dealership... If your any good with tools do it yourself. I've done many. Just make sure you countthe threads on the Tie rods. Then when you take the tierods off the old rack/pinion install with same thread count on new rack/pinion.ANDMAKE sure to get itALIGNED after you do it. I honestly believe you could do it yourself. It is easy! If you need help just message me and I'll give you some more pointers. Also don't use a standard open end wrench on the lines when you take them off, Use a crows foot wrench. It is almost a closed end wrench, but its got a little opening. just google crows foot.

thanks for the help duece. if i ever run into the problem again which i hope not on any of my future trucks, ill look into doing it myself. but for $150 in labor to get it done RIGHT with an alignment... i might have saved $80 or $90, and like i said, i know its done right now.

My Dad always told me...

You NEVER know it is done right unless you do it your self.

No one will ever respect your property as much as you will.

But if you trust the guy and they offer warranty on the work. Thats ok too. I have a Mechanic that I trust and has always done me right on my Avenger. I just do not have the time to do some things myself. I wish I did but i just do not.
