Bigmike- what climate do you live in? I certainly hope you don't think the bigger the number the better.

And mm if amsoil fell off the truck instead of rp I'm sure you'd be using it to. LOL

it doesnt matter about what climate i live in it's the climate ur engine gets.thicker oil doesnt get like juice when the engine is about 200 degrees or more,it's like butter when it gets to hot it gets very thin

well I'm sure your valves love the 20w at startup.

I run amsoil 5-30

and I hope your engine doesn't get much hotter than 200 as your stock tstat is 195.

It will take it's toll on the engine and oil pump. The clearances are designed for the thinner oil. It takes more hp to push that thick oil around.

With MDS, which he shouldn't have in an 05, the manual says you must use 5W20 for it to function properly.

With 212 cams, I would imagine bigmike's truck is a 4.7L.
Although the peanut gallery is correct here. Mike, you may want to rethink your viscosity choice here, these modern engines are designed for the thinner oils of today and are actually protected better and perform better when using them. Stick to the viscosities the manual calls for.
I used to run the thicker oils in my vehicles also, I had a Nova 350 S/S that would go through oil like crazy unless I put 20w/50 in it, but engines are different today and using a grade that thick is no longer a good thing...

I guess it is really easier to suck a milk shake thru a straw than it is a soda pop. I've been wrong for 40 years.
Good luck down the road with those OHC's when they are starving for oil at every start-up and you are replacing the cams again.

Youre a jackass, its a six figure income, you don't refer to companies net as a six figure company.

And I hope there's no criteria for grammar or spelling at whatever min wage job youll wind up with.

And by the way pal, for a company to only make 100k-999k ain't that impressive. My friends dad started up a pool screening company and he takes home 600k, that's not counting the other half his brother takes and then you've got the companies profits and employee expenses.

So enjoy.
