The Mickey ATZ's look pretty sharp on Bear's truck and I like them alot. I am between them, the FC II's, and the Toyo's too. All are amazing looking tires that would probably last over 50k miles and never let me down.

I've already spoken my piece, but I can't resist the opportunity to throw a pic up.

I vote Toyo's. I kind of want them as my next tire. Who knows what I will want though when it comes time to get new ones.

I really like the Toyo's too, but I can get the BFG's for alot less. I am looking at about $250 a tire installed for the traditional Mud Terrain KM. What are the pro's and con's of that tire. I like the toyo's and the BFG's, but those Cepeks look really good too.

Hammer- What have you put those cepeks through so far? Have they held up to what a normal mud tire can do? I can get those for about 260 a tire and that is after shipping. I am really between the FCII's and the BFG's. Do you know expected mileage for the BFG's and the FCII's?

I've done quite a few trips from my parent's in central Fl. to my hometown in Ga. which is about 360 miles each way. A goodbit of work on the farm in some serious red clay mud. A few trips in the lowland swamps hog hunting. I personally think they are the single best tire for a daily driver that plays hard on the weekend. Look at the tread, most of the center of the tire is a mildly aggressive A/T tread. I keep 'em aired up at about 42 lbs. (max is 50) which keeps the center in great contact all the time while preserving the extreme outside aggressive blocks and sidebiters (like you'd expect to find on a very aggressive M/T tire) from wearing at all.
When it's work or play time and I know it's gonna be sloppy, I'll simply air 'em down a bit and let those big blocks and side biters go to work.
The only set of BFG's I had left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Cupping & belt separation issues, but this was when I was a teen in the mid '80s.
I've just had so much great luck with Mickey Thompson & Dick Cepek tires for about the last dozen years or so, that I have no reason or desire to switch to any other brand.

well you have made up my mind. I was between that and a few other tires. I like the MTZ's but they are not as wide or tall as they should be. If I was doing 38's I would do that tire every day of the week, But going with the DD that plays hard I was between the cepek/thomps and the toyo's. The toyo's look nice, but I honestly don't need a MT tire for my application. But the Cepek had really caught my eye and I think that is going to be my final choice. I think I will go with the 4in lift and the cepek's in 35x12.5x17's. I still want the 37x13.5's but they don't seem very practical. but thanks for all of your help with the tires and many other things.

That's exactly the setup I have, 4" Rancho suspension kit w/ RS9000X shocks and the 35" Fun Country II's. I know you'll be pleased that amount of lift and these tires. I have a ton of hunting/fishing/ATV buddies in Ga. and did the rounds at the hunting club about three years ago. Drove a bunch of setups off road and on. Thought the 4" kit had a more solid, centered feel than any of the 5.5-6" kits. Handled cornering on pavement and tight trails much better. Since I was only going to 35's (I'm sure you know my opinion on that by now), I was sold after driving an '02 Dodge and a '99 Chevy with this kit.
Even though I now have a daily driver (Grand Cherokee) I have no intention of going any higher on the lift and as long as I am living in Fl. taking care of my parents and make the 360 mile trip each way home to Ga., I'll go with these tires as I almost always take the truck with my ATV in the bed. If I ever get to move back home, I'll probably get a set of Claws on the truck if I still have the Jeep. IMO there is no sense getting a standard M/T tire, the FCII's will stay with any of them off road. The only tires I think would be significantly better off-road would be Claws or Boggers...
