Default Power steering filter? Yes or no?

I've see where it is recomended to use an in-line power steering filter in the return line to increase the life of the power steering components. Does anyone here have any experience with using a filter on your ps? It has been stated on DF that ps pump failure if common, could this be a solution to the problem? The reason I ask is becuase I just recently got an 05 Ram 1500 and the pump died on me. I am in the process of replacing the pump and this would be a good time to put on the filter.

I'm no expert, just a guy with questions...looking for answers.

Thanks,
Steve

Wouldn't hurt. If I was replacing the pump already, I would add the inline filter.
