Default cold air intake

I bid on a cold air intake on ebay last week and ended up getting it for $24.68. Later I realized that this company or person is selling a nonbrand and most all of them are being sold for less than $30. Anway, the filter is K&N and I figured for the price what the hell. It came over the weekend and I put it in. I noticed immediately that the truck felt smoother and i'm getting about 2 miles to the gallon increase on gas mileage. As far as horsepower goes I don't notice it until I hit thegas somewhere between 25 and 35 mph and then theres a difference but I don't notice it from a dead stop. Just though i'd let you know that they are available on ebay for cheap.

I was wondering about the low end cuz like I said I didn't notice a change. Everyone told me it would be noisy to and it isn't I don't even hear except at higher speeds.

I noticed a sound difference with mine when I first put it on. I originally had a cone K&N filter on it, however it fell off somewhere between here and Atlanta, I put an American Performance filter with a heat shroud, and now I can't hear anything from the CAI. I agree though, I wouldn't have spent more than $75 on a CAI, I just don't think the minimal gains are worth $300..

Newbie here, the forum is great! I've actually just purchased a 2006 HEMI and I'm loving it! With the CAI from ebay, did it come with all the mounting brackets so that it just doesn't "hang" there in the engine compartment? And also is there a spot for the MAF on the CAI? I'm considering purchasing one from ebay too, way cheaper than the K&N brand ones and I think work just as well provided that it has the above mentioned things.

Thanks for any response
