Default Drop Shackles

I want to lower the rear of my truck so it sits more level. From what I've read, I've decided on teh drop shackles. How do these go about working. Just bolt them around the springs in the rear? Does that effect the payload on teh truck? Who makes the best?

Thanks,
Chris

I have a 2005 reg cab and I bought drop shackles from stylintrucks.com for$75. It dropped it about 1 1/2". It sits perfect. The shackles are DJM.

How much do you lose in payload when you drop it??? I know I've bottomed my truck out a couple of times, and can't afford to lose too much, however I'd rather drop the back than raise the front...

Also, how hard's the install? Can it be done in the driveway?

If you have the proper tools its real easy! I dont so I paid to have mine done and had the overload spring removed too for the entire 2" drop. These are where I got my shackles.
