Default 2008 differential opinion

Hi,I recently purchased my first Dodge. It's a2008 1500 SLTRam 4 wheel drive.I now have realized after purchase that the rear end is open, not anti slip.I would like to change it over to a posi.Any opinions on the Richmond Powertrax ,Detroitlocker etc.I was a previousFord truck owner and everydifferential I had was always limited slip.I missed that one on purchase.I drive 90% Hwy dry, snow, ice etc.......Regards,

You're better off...the factory LSD is a turd. I'd go with a Auburn or Eaton if it was me...in that order. What gearing did you get?

I have the Auburn Gear LSD, works great. Locks up great when you need it and don't know it's there when you don't...

I made the same mistake and bought one with 3.92s and an open differental. After 35k miles of tires spinning through 3rd gear, I bought a Detroit Locker TruTrac and couldn't be happier with it. I can only break the tires loose when I try. I have had the new diff for about 8k miles and no problems yet. Decided to go with the Detroit because it is a clutchless system unlike the Stock, Auburn, and many others. With the 33s that come with the Ram's is right about at the limit of clutch baised rear-ends capability
