Default power wire

Has anyone with the power wire from airram.com ever experienced detonation due to the advance in timing? Does it require 89 or 93 gas, or is 87 fine? There is no info about those issues on the web site. Thanks.

You're better off buying a programmer or getting your truck dyno tuned...I stay away from the resistor gimmicks.

I have a 4.7. No programmers. I'm not doing it for power, I want the 1/2 to 2 mpg increase that everyone says they are getting.

It is lieing to the computer and giving the wrong air intake temp to the PCM and it is leaning out the engine. The detonation will soon ruin the engine if it continues.
I don't think 1mpg is work paying for a replacment engine!!
Sound like the Ebay chips that offer 10 more MPG and 65hp. No way it can work.

Yea, agreed. The power wire does basically whata lower temp thermostat does. You should be running richer with the power wire and detonation should not be an issue...
