Default difference between 4.56 and 4.88 gears

Just starting to look into changing the gears what is the difference between the 4.56 and the 4.88 gears? The truck is still my daily driver so I need something that still drives good on the highway with lower rpm's, as i do alot of travelling? I noticed today with these tires driving 55mph the rpm's are staying about 1500 but the rpm's jump to 2500 with little effort. Any explaination or thoughts on which gears i should be leaning towards. Thanks

If you are running 37" tires as it says in your sig, then you want the 4.88s. It will get you around the stock RPM levels.

If your truck came with the stock 33" tires and 3:92 gears???, then 4:56 will put you at a little better then stock gearing!

Check out this gear chart and go from there!

If you mostly do Highway and stay on the pavement, but do a little off roading then go with the 4:56!!! If you do a lot of stop and go and like to off road often go with the 4:88!!

4:56 is still great off road, and in the city, but 4:88 will give you more low end torque!
