that is impressive with a load....I'm still averaging 13mpg with normal driving...back roads mostly, little highway. I still haven't tested a lengthy road trip yet, still less than 2000 miles on her now.

You guys are all doing better than me. Before my new tires the computer said 11.5 with my 35's it says 9.5. I know all of my gauges are off so I don't know what I'm actually getting, but I sure it's not good. I only have 2500 miles on it now so I'm hopeing it gets better. I haven't taken it out on a long highway trip yet so don't really know what I am getting there. From what I understand nothing out there improves your mpg a great deal, is that correct.

I call BS - check your tire size and actual milage versus what your truck says the milage is... I would bet that's off.....

Not that i care, I didn't buy the MC for the milage and you guys comparing to 1500 Hemi's you have the MDS whcich is NOT on any MC or 2500...

Maybe at 55-60mph no load you MIGHT get 16, anything else is simply not correct

Says he who has 315's.....you guys don't realize what kind of difference those tires make. Throw the stock low rolling resistance street tires back on and you'll instantly get a couple more mpg if not more. Plus the lift's kill your mpg as well, the lower the truck the better theaerodynamics.

And my milage is right on, I always do the math at the pump to compare, and it's always within 1mpg of the display. Sure I get around 10-11 in town, like everyone else, can't change the weight of the truck Course that's not bad considering I live in a small town where ya never hit more than 30 for a block, and our blocks are short!

My old town and country was getting around 22-26mpg average, put new tires on with a much more aggresive pattern, and they were not rated lrr like the previous ones, my milage droped to 16-19. That's a huge difference, and this is averaged out over two years, one year with each set. It's not an anomaly.

Evomega08, not much will improve your milage a noticable amount, except changing your driving habits or getting rid of those tires, and it won't get appreciably better with more miles on it, break in mpg improvments are a myth with modern engines.

When everyone buys a new truck and gets a lift and big bad tires before they even go though a tank or two, it's no wonder everyone thinks they are going to get bad milage.

Don't get me wrong, I knew when I was buying the truck it was no compact car, I wasn't expecting good gas mileage. When the window sticker says N/A it's probably not a good sign, but if there was a product out there that made a considerable difference, I could use a few more mpg's. As far as the tires go I think they kick *** and are worth a few mpg's, but again if something was out there I would use it.

Those tires are bad ***, but I've got my wife's '95 1500 crew cab for off roading (9mpg 5.9l) and I just keep my mega for work and hauling. It's all a trade off. You could try that water for gas thing if you're willing to risk your engine.....

agreed!

I went through a few tanks of fuel before I got my new tires, and max 1-2mpg's difference.

I haven't read the water for gas thing yet, but I'm guessing it voids the lifetime powertrain.

I agree with timduder and Evo. I didn't buy a mega cab for the MPG, I bought the truck to dospecific things with and agressive tire are nice option for Hunting, fishing and getting around the wet Pacific NW.

I will throw this out there I did a little study of my own at 65 or 70 which ever the posted speed limit was my MPG were 13 or 14, on ther return trip I held it at 55 and got 16.9 MPG (WOW). Granted it was REALLY HARD to do 55 but kind of interesting result (it was generally what I expected I just didn't think it would be quite that good). It is nice to be suprised sometimes.

And in spirt of honesty I do have a CAI, a Flomaster 70 series, and I have had the speedo recalibrated for the 35"s

Good mega cabbing to all

B

Pretty much all vehicles made in the USA are built to have the best mpg's at 55mph.... THEY want us all to slow down
