Severedistortion,
What is your procedure for cleaning the engine bay? I always just wipe it all down as best I can. I'm hesitant to use any pressurized water, etc.. Thanks!

^^^It's all about the prep...just like painting or whatever. I remove the intake anduse plastic grocery bags to cover the common sense things that need to be covered...like the throttle body, pcm, fuse box, and alternator. I just use the regular hosefrom my house and spray any greasy spots with a 50/50 ratio of Simple Green/water from a spray bottle.

I don't spray the hose directly on any sensors...then I hand clean anything that was covered. I bring the engine up to running temp to burn off any hidden pooling of water...it sounds like a lot but it only takes 10-15 minutes if you keep the engine clean on a regular basis.

I run 89 all the time. Just because i really dont miss the $3.75 more per tank. And yes i do get better gas mileage from the 89 then i did when i tried 87.

i dont have a hemi. but most of the time i run 87. but i do admit when i use 89 or even higher, i have seen better gas mileage. and a little better performance, but that may just be my head trying to compensate for the little extra cash. only problem is lately 89 is about 22cents more than regular. before it was only like 10. but its still only a couple dollars more.

I run the 87 though my master mechanic buddy told me it may knock unless I had a tuner (which I do)

Dodge says inthe 08, 87 is fine....

I ran 87 in my 08 when I first got it untill i noticed in the manual that 89 is perfered so I switched. But I could swear I got better MPG when I was running 87. Never noticed any knocking or crankyness from her when running on 87. I just stuck with 89 so I wont void the warrenty if the dealer ever tryed to jack me.

You won't void the warranty by using 87. The manual says "87 Octane Acceptable - 89 Octane Recommended" (see the fluids table in the back of the manual. In my manual it is page 497).

I run 89 octane, even run a few tanks of 91 octane on ocassion, really notice improved performance and milage with the 92, esp on cool mornings or night drving, and when towing, I'm on the highway a lot, 87 octange dogs my 2500 hemi 6sp, just not the same truck on 87.
