Hey guys,
Just wanted to run this by ya...
I just purchased a 23 foot travel trailer. 3900 Lbs.
I have the 03 Ram 4x4 reg cab, 4.7.
Looking on my door sticker it said I could tow 6350 LBS.
Is that right?
Tried to figure it with the GVWR and GAWR.
That stuff is kinda greek to me.
The guy I bought the trailer from said he could tow it with a subaru outback. Sounded kinda fishy to me. I have the 3.92 gears as well, and the factory tow.
Does this sound right to you guys? Am I safe??
Thanx

As far as I know towing weight doesn't effect the GVWR...except for the tongue weight which has to be added in. Your truck is more then capable of towing 3,900lbs. No way he towed that trailer in his outback for any long distance.....even the 240ish hp turbo outback is only rated foraround 2500lbs.
