I originally wanted to go with 37's, but have heard really bad things about that with IFS; however, 35x12.5's are just a little bit small and narrow for me. So now I am looking into IROK Radials at 36x13.5's on a 17x9 rim. The rim would be a 17x9 with about 4.5in of backspace. I have an 05ram QCSB 4x4. My questions are...
[ul][*]What is the minimum lift I would need to clear the 36x13.5's?[*]Would I be able to do it with just using a 2in level kit and a 3in pa body lift? I would be willing to do some trimming to make it as well.[*]Has anyone used these Irok radials for a while? I was wondering how they ride, perform, and last.[*]I know that Romeoville had a similar set-up, but I don't want to use wheel spacers at all.[*]Also I know that DodgeNitto cleared 37x13.5's with trimming on just a 3in body and a level. [/ul]
I would like to go with 35's but I want a slightly wider tire than the 12.5's and so I found these.
Thanks for the help,
-Eric

Nitto did his with just a 2.5 level. he addd the 3 inch Body lift later. I say go with that set up foor now and if its not big enough lift for you.
I haven't found an 2.5in level kit for a 05 ram. I have only found the 2in lifts to level my truck out. So you are saying that the 2in level w/3in body should be enough to clear the 36x13.5's? what backspacing and offset would I need to fit that? I found a procomp wheel with 4.625 backspacing and -12offset. Would it be what I need to clear those tires?

I know it will clear it. The turning radius should be good, but im not 100 % FOR SURE. And if you want to spread out the cost you could wait on the body lift. Any level kit from 02-05 should work for any of the years because its the same truck. Hammer or someone else will chime in to aswer the turn and years thing.
I thought that it took nitto alot of trimming after installing the level and the body kit. There is no way he cleared those 37x13.5 mud grapplers with just the leveling kit. I am pretty sure that he had both before he put the tires on. I am pretty sure that I will be able to clear the 36x13.5's once I have both installed though. The main question is how much flex room will I have when I go off roading and how will my truck perform when I am on the pavement?

Yes and No, Yes I had the Body lift and the leveling kit on before the 37" tires, and no it didn't take "a lot" of trimming! I think you will be very close with that setup to clear 36" tires! I plan on going to the 36x13.5R20 Irok Bias when it is time for new tires myself! If it were me and I was to do it all over again knowing what I know now, I would have done a 4.5" suspension kit and a 3" body lift to fit the 37" tires!ORIGINAL: RedRam2005

Well now I am looking at a new alternative to the 36x13.5 Irok radial's because I have been reading some ok reviews for them, but also alot of problems. They don't seem like they will last for much more than 30000 miles. I am looking for something that will be about 50k. I am now looking at a set of FCII's that are 36x15.5x18's. Found them for 999.99 and thought that was an amazing price. What would I need to do to clear something like that? How much would a 15.5in wide tire kill my mileage?

i've got 36x13.50R20 irok radials on my 06 1500 4x4 with 2.5" level...and 3" body...I had the tires on with no body lift and no spacers on wheels..but on stock 20's...got pics of both before and after...there was no rubbing or anything...after the lift I put the spacers on for looks only...and no problems at all out of them...but I do have to ask u this...what is the difference between putting spacers on vs getting rims with backspacing??? they both do the same damage to ur suspension...they both make ur tire stick out further....just a thought......

i also have 24K miles on my IROK radials....and still bout 50-60 percent left....keep em balanced and rotated every 3-4K miles.....
Anyone know what lift and backspacing I would need to clear those 36x15.5x18 FCII's? How much stress would that put on my suspension and how much would a tire like that kill my mileage?
