Uconnect and iPhone 3G
Hello All...I am new to the forum, been lurking for a couple of weeks...ever since I bought my 2008 Ram 1500 QC, 5.7L, Lone Star, etc. etc. etc. Lots of great information here, I have learned so much just reading through posts and I haven't even read half of what is here!
I had the dealer install Uconnect and it has been working great! I had the1st gen iPhone and a Blackberry paired to it and everything worked beautiful. Then I went out this past weekend and stood in line with the rest of the nuts to get the new 3G iPhone...I am so happy with the phone...except for one minor issue...I can't get my Uconnect to talk to it.
I go through the pairing setup and everything appears to work just fine. Uconnect says "Pairing Complete" and I think everything is good to go...however when I go to make a call, it says "Phone not available".
The Blackberry paired sucessfully and is working OK.
I have tried deleting and recreating all of the paried devices on my phone and Uconnect, didn't work. [>:]
I tried all of the tricks that I could find listed for the iPhone (reseting the network, going to airplane mode and back, doing a soft reset, etc.), didn't work. [:@]
The 3G iPhone pairs to my wife's Infinity just fine.
The iPhone is listed as compatable on the Dodge site (I'm sure not the 3G but the version of bluetooth is the same as the 1st gen so I wouldn't expect it to be any different).
Does anyone else have the 3G iPhone working with their Uconnect?
Has anyone else hadissues getting a bluetooth device to talk with Uconnect? If so, what majical tricks have I missed to get it to work.
Will it helpto disconnect the battery on the truck to get Uconnect to reset?
Looking forward to learning a lot from everyone!
Terry

Did you notice that you replied to a post from 7-2008?
What year is your vehicle & what radio do you have?

No I did not, but I have a 2010 Ram 1500 and all of our phones worked on the Radio Boluetooth, until I downloaded the Ios5 on my iphone 4, now its the only one that will not work. Our RAZR and Black Berry's work fine. I am taking into the dealership Monday to have them put it on the computer and update my radio. Per Apple this is suppose to fix it! We'll see and hope.
Well just to let you in on something, ANDROIDS have their issues as well with updates. There have been several models of Android phones that were working great until an update was applied. If it hasn't happened to you yet then you are lucky but be warned that you could also be bummed out one day and someone will probably say "yeah, that's why I have an IPhone".

Then don't download the new Ios5 or it probably won't work "well" anymore. My iPhone 4 worked great until I downloaded the new and inproved Ios5 ! Now pairs, but will not work correctly. Disconnects, no dial out, etc. Have not been able to start any conversation to date through UConnect!
Are you on AT&T or Verizon? Also what year vehicle & radio type?

I am with Verizon and my 2010 Ram Laramie 1500 5.7 has the Media Center 730N /CD/DVD/HDD/NAV/ Radio and as stated previously, Apple support feels if I have my Radio updated by the dealeer it will take care of the problem I have an appointment next week to get this done and crossing my fingers. Also as stated previously, I had the iPhone 4 and for the 4 months I had it on the old system - A-OK. Downloaded th Ios5 and whole new ball game. 90%+ failure rate after paired with my UConnect!
