Default MT MTZ's or BFG AT's,,,Whataya think?

Looking at either the BFG AT's or the Micky Thompson MTZ mud terrains in 315/70/17 size for my 07 QC 4X4. Anybody have any experience with either of them? if so, what do you think about them? what is the actual width? The calculators show just over 12 inches but someone on this site said his were 10 1/2 inches. Might have been a typo?
I like the look of an aggressive tire but my driving is street and beaches, so sand (Mid-atlantic beaches)is my only offroad driving.
Thanks.

those are 2 totally different tires, if you like the aggressive look then the BFG a/t's would be out, i just changed tires from the BFG a/t and i dont think i would ever get another set, they didnt seem to perform the way they should. the mickey thompson tires are nice i was looking at those. i was reading up on the nitto dune grapplers and those are suppose to be a really great tire for sand driving and they look like they wouldn't wear to bad for street driving.

Thanks, I know they are totally different but just trying to see the advantages/disadvantages of each. Also need to see which side of me wins. The one who wants an aggressive look, but not full bore like the swampers, or more realistic for the types of driving I do.

i think the mtzs would be a great tire for you. They have a very neat looking tread on them, but are not too aggressive, so that would be good for the street and sand like you said you do. The would probably ride out smoother too
