Not your average squeak....
Hello all, I have a 2006 Ram hemi quad cab 2wd. Over the last few months a squeak or squeal depending on how you want to describe it has started in the front of my truck. I pulled the belt off and checked all my pulleys. The upper idler pulley and tensioner pulley were both loose and felt like the bearings were going out on them. I took it to the dealership and had them replace them since its still under warranty. They replaced both pulleys, but the squeak is still there. It happens around 45 mph at low rpm. Sometimes it happens around 30 mph but not nearly as much. I've read all the threadsabout brakes, brake sensors and shifter cables on automatics, but I do not think this is what it is. Can anybody help? They said that the freon was low so it could possibly be the clutch on the ac compressor going out, but I'm not familiar with how good the compressor are they put on the Hemi's. Somebody give me some help.
well i figured that if it was the belt it would happen at various speeds not just 45mph. A tech at the dealership found the fan clutch to be a little loose but didn't have one in stock so they ordered that and a tensioner pulley that I'm going to get put on today. After that there's only the water pump, power steering pump and ac compressor left. I'll see what happens.
