Oil Change
I know this had been discussed many times but I needed as recent info as I can get (even though it might not change much) I have a 2004 1500 QC 4x4 5.7HEMIwith 23000 miles on it. I am about to do an oil change before I go on a 2500 mile trip in it. I was curious what would be the best type/rating of oil. I live in south dakota so I see 110 in the summer and -20 in the winter. My truck doesn't see the road very much I think I have put about 3000 miles on it the past year tops. Any suggestions would be great. I am new to these trucks

I recently made the switch to Royal Purple due to some very good mpg gains I experienced when I tried it in my Jeep GC.
Before that I've used Mobil 1 for years with either a Mobil 1 or Wix (Napa Gold) filter with excellent results in all my trucks & SUVs through the years.
Your '04 calls for 5w-30...
