Default Free Headlight assemblies - headlight mod gone wrong!

OK, this is a little embarrassing but I think my embarrassment is worth it if I can find someone to takes my two headlight assemblies off me instead of throwing them in the garbage. It would be a shame to throw them out when they are still functional.

A few weeks ago I took my headlight assemblies out in preparation for the headlight mod. I fired up my oven and threw em in. Well, unfortunately for me I set the oven to 200 degrees celsius and not 200 degrees Fahrenheit. I watched them carefully but the oven was just too hot and melted the right lens a bit. I also rushed the job and made a big mess and got RTV all over the place. I somehow got RTV on the chrome and when I tried to rub it off I managed to rub some of the chrome off (not too hard to do since the chrome is sooo thin). Anyways, I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I went out and bought two new headlight assemblies and redid the whole exercise. Crazy I know but it turned out great and I'm very happy with it.

So, now I have two headlight assemblies with both amber reflectors removed, one slightly melted lens, one slightly scratch chrome but both are functional and somewhat sealed. The left headlight assembly is the one that is scratched so if you plan on painting them its no big deal. The right headlight assembly is only melted on the bottom and not even noticeable from 10 feet away once installed.

If you want them and are willing to pay for shipping let me know. The headlights are off a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 QC SLT.

dont feel bad, I was doing a mod to my taillight and did the same thing. Someone from the forum bought it so hold on to them and they will come in handy for somebody wanting to experiment.

OK here are a couple pictures. The mod was done awhile ago and I actually had them on the truck 3 or 4 weeks after the mod before I redid the mod (did that make sense?)

Anyways, the driver side is in really good shape and contrary to what i said above, the passenger side has all the damage (melted lens and scratced chrome). The picture of both assemblies shows the passenger assembly (top) and the driver assembly (bottom). I took this picture head on to show that you can barely notice the melted lens.

there not as bad as I though. did they ever fog up on you?I'll pay shipping and take them off your hands. I wanna pull them apart and paint them black on the insides. and since your in canada shipping should be cheap as hell.
