today i took my 04 ram 1500 to get a alingment done.
all i have done to the suspension is i leveled her out with the torsian bar cranks and put 33x12.50-20 nitto grapplers on her.
this mechanic at a local shop told me i couldnt get a alingment because i needed to buy camber kits $80 bucks each for a total of $160 + the $ 60 for alignment. so i have to give him $220 to get my truck right.
is this some bull $hit or what ??? i have read all about leveling the truck threw this awesome site and not once was this mentioned.
by looking at the truck i cant even see a toe in or out all looks fine. but i know i need a alignment. i told him i had to get back with him later...i wanted to ask you guys first.
IS THIS CLOWN RIGHT??? please help brothers

 

Yeah you would need the kit. When you jack up the bars they do move the wheels out of alignment.

 

called another shop they said it can be done without kits??now im confused
i always thought their was some degree of adjustment left in the factory kit to make it all adjusted right . after all it is only a couple turns of t-bar bolts?

 

I put a 2 1/2" level kit on mine and got an alignment with no issues. I wasn't even fed the line of "... you'll need longer shocks ..." In fact, I was told I would NOT need longer shocks. Pays to do business with honest places.

 

No you won't need the kit! After leveling out the front of my truck they got the alignment to the exact spec's with no extra kit!

 

did you guys lift the front by the torsion bars ??

 

Yes I put new Torsion keys on! pretty much the same thing as cranking them!

 

I leveled mine with the torsion bars, got the alignment done perfectly without any extra kit. Alignment was done at a shop that does boat loads of lifts and such. Basically a 4x4 shop. It's true as could be.

 

just got home went to another local guy he did the alingment no problem drives straight down the road . when i got home i looked at the top factory adjusters the passenger side ones are pushed all the way to the driver side
the driver sideonly one is pushed to the pass side and the other one is in the middle shouldnt they be the same on bolth sides
i probably just confused the heck out of us all on this one
