Switch from Sirius to XM?
If you REALLY want to do this (why would anyone switch from Sirius??) lol yes it can be done, the antenna can work for either Sirius or XM, you may have to find an adapter, or splice/solder the antenna wire together, but it can be done. The sirius box is located behind the glove box, and the antenna just plugs into it there.
As of today the vote to merge is 2-2 with one vote left. So depending on the out come of the vote sat. radio might not be around much longer since both companies have been in the red since inception. If the last vote is against the merger I do not see either company being able to make it since they were supposed to have started making profit some time last year (I think). So I would hold off on buying a new sat. radio right now.
my sirius and xm reps have promised us that all units will continue to function after the merger. whether that's true or not IDK. but that's the best info i have.

Yeah I have heard that is one of the conditions of the merger - all radios must continue to work, and no price changes for a couple years. However, that just means they will continue to work as they do now, and they have stated that since the systems are different, adding a-la-carte will not work with current radios. You will just continue to get the same Sirius or XM channels.
iPod... spend the money on buying the music you want to hear... I had XM for 5 years or so, but kinda kicking myself for wastingthe money for as long as I did. I listened to 3 or 4 channels and that was it.
