Ride height, lift amount, and tires,,,
how much lift, if i wanted to get something a bit more agressive in height,,,nothing crazy,,,,,2008 quad cab 1500,,,,,,i just want something more than stock,,,,
If you wanted something that would make your truck look more aggressive and still perform well off road then I would go with (if they make one for your truck yet) a 4.5 suspension inch lift with 35X13.5 or 35X12.5 tires! If you don't take it off road then you can just crank the torsion bars and stuff 35 inch tires under there, you just won't have the same off road performance and smoother ride you would have going with a suspension lift!
i might do the suspension lift thing, i would like to keep the ride performance, and i dont do any off road stuff, not sure on which size kit, etc to do. thank you
if you don't do any off road the suspension lift is a big waste of money for you. look in to a PA body lift. HammerZ71 did a great post explaining all different kinds of lifts. search it, it'll help a lot. he also has a smaller more concise post in the "most frequent topics" thread stickied at the top of the forum.
Nitto: He can't crank the torsion bars, he's got a coil over front suspension (06+).
69Charger: Here's the write up I did on types of lifts. Read it to determine what best suits you needs then you can deal with tire size...

Thanks guys,,,very helpful link to the difference in terminology,,,,after reading it, i think a "body lift" would be ok for what i am doing, more cosmetic than anything, and less cost,
i am going to check out the Performance Accessories kit,
Once i do that, then i can figure out what tire to do.
any suggestions on that would be welcome as well. again, street driven truck only, highway, occasional towing, etc,
thanks, Doug

I found this,,,body lift kit from Performance Accessories,,,price was $215,,,,,but i found a few other sites,,,,and the price ranged upto $360 , I have to make sure this will work with a 2008 truck,,
Very excited, I get my new truck tomorrow,,, I will post some pics when it arrives, sad to see my old truck leave,
Once i get the truck,,i will save some $ to get the truck lifted,,and some new tires / rims..

The PA is THE body lift to get. Get the gap guards or make a set yourself. The area under the bed will look terrible without them. Keep in mind that it still won't sit level though. I would add a front level kit as well, coil spacers are cheap. This combo would also give you enough lift to run 35" tires which would look awsome...
