actually i have the full K&N intake, i believe it has a 4" intake, and it has a pretty loud drone at startup and higher throttle...sounds like a wet/dry vac on haha but it also gives a loud whistle, i have been asked if i have a turbo numerous times...i think you are going to have the drone no matter what, $250 CAI or a $5 homemade intake...mine rattled also, had to put bumper pads on it

It had quite a bit of body damage from a hydroplaning incident. Honestly, I loved the truck; it was powerful, fun, never really gave too many probs. (some a/c trouble recently, but that's really it). I wasn't set on buying that day when I stopped to look, was just interested in possibly having some more room. Then bam...new truck. I had my eyes on a QC for a year now, and the deal was pretty decent. I like being back in a manual trans too.
Matt88, I've got some whistle at part throttle and of course the vacuum sounds at startup...the drone that's killin me is this roar right around 3k-4k at WOT. At partial throttle when accelerating, you can still hear the tone change at that RPM. Just a bit annoying....If your K&N is 4" tubing, I might go up a size to see.
