Default What should I go with?

I have an 04 ram 1500 4x4. I pull a 16ft tandem trailer and pull total weight of about 5200lbs on a regular basis. should I go with a c,d,or e rated tire? everyone tells me I should because of the equipment I pull. ThetiresI have on there now are seperatingso I needsome new ones.i got the factory275/60/20's on there. What do you guys think? I went to the local tire shop and they quoted me $964 installed for 275/65-E20's. Please let me know....

a d rated tire would be perfectly fine with that load. An E rated tire may last you slightly longer and can handle more if neccessary...

I agree. You're not putting the weight in the bed. Assuming you have the tongue weight correct, the load range of the tire shouldn't matter so much.

a "d" load range should give you around 3k lbs per tire, maybe a little more, that's plenty for a 1/2 ton truck. i'll be upgrading to "d" from "c" on my next set...that'll be more than enough to carry all the crap i try and load in the truck/trailer.

+1, I have hauled 7500lbs more times than I can count with P series tires on my old 01 F150 and my 08 Ram.
